50 Cent Sets Gucci Shirt On Fire, Joins Boycott [VIDEO]
50 Cent has taken a significant stand along with other black celebrities who are boycotting the iconic fashion brand, Gucci. The brand caught a severe amount of criticism following the release a design which closely resembled the racist caricature blackface.
The entrepreneur posted a video of himself burning a Gucci shirt, along with a pile of suspected Gucci garments underneath the flaming shirt.
While celebrities like Floyd Mayweather and Kodak Black are vowing to continue to rock the stylish brand, 50 has clearly taken the route of T.I. and Spike Lee, who are choosing to boycott the brand even after they issued an apology.
The brand’s apology stated:
Gucci deeply apologizes for the offense caused by the wool balaclava jumper. We can confirm that the item has been immediately removed from our online store and all physical stores.
We consider diversity to be a fundamental value to be fully upheld, respected, and at the forefront of every decision we make. We are fully committed to increasing diversity throughout our organization and turning this incident into a powerful learning moment for the Gucci team and beyond.
