In the Feb. 10 episode of “Love and Hip Hop: New York,” the former best friends became embroiled in a heated confrontation which quickly became physical. Vanderhee appeared to be the initiator of the fight as she threw a drink on Smith-Harris. She received major backlash from viewers for starting the incident, but Vanderhee recently took to social media to explain her reasoning behind her action.
When a fan recently asked the “LHHNY” actress why she was so angry at Smith-Harris, she fired back in a now-deleted statement on the show’s official Instagram page, “Are you dumb? Did you not see the episode? Cuz she said I deserved it 10 years later! TF do you mean why am I mad???”
Vanderhee was referring to Smith-Harris’ comments about Chrissy Lampkin “dog walking” Vanderhee on season 1 of “LHHNY.” Smith-Harris said Vanderhee deserved to get “beat up” by Lampkin, and her remarks clearly struck a nerve with her former bestie.
Fans had mixed reactions to Vanderhee’s reasoning for assaulting Smith-Harris.
“Kimbella know she was wrong. She should have probably kept that same energy with Chrissy ”
“Kimbella I really don’t like YANDY you should of stumped that B–CH she’s fake I would have whooped Yang fake ass ”
“I’m so confused on this it just doest make any sense, so you mean to tell me kimbella been friends with Yandy all these years after that fight broke out but she was mad about it. and now she friends with the person that dog walked her I just can’t!”
Amid Vanderhee and Smith-Harris’ argument on the last episode, Smith-Harris yelled, “You befriend somebody that molly whopped that ass across the floor!”
Moments later Vanderhee threw a drink at her ex-best friend, and the two nearly came to blows before security quickly separated them from each other.
Many viewers agreed that Smith-Harris’ comments struck a nerve with Vanderhee.
“Chrissy really did ‘Molly Whop’ her though Yandy hit a nerve on Kimbella when she said that,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “Yandy definitely hit a nerve when she brought up Chrissy beating that asshow you the best of friends with a b–ch that beat yo ass on tv”
