Wendy Williams is hosting “The Wendy Williams Show” from her New York City apartment, now that more Americans are working to stay indoors to help with reducing the spread of the virus that has led to a worldwide pandemic.
Williams made the announcement on Tuesday, March 23 via Instagram, and the first episode live streamed online that same day.
“You asked for it and I delivered,” she wrote. “Subscribe to my YouTube channel, hit the and watch the first episode of ‘Wendy @ Home’! #wendywilliams #socialdistancing.”
The first episode of “Wendy @ Home” began with Williams talking about a Betty Boop statue that was seen in the background. Williams said that she had the item for a while and spray painted the skin to make her look black.
She then drank a tall glass of Orangina and ate foods such as lollipop lamb chops and soft-shelled crab. Williams also admitted that hosting the show from her home isn’t something she was highly in favor of, but it was a better option than going outside.
“I’m not taking you on a tour of my apartment,” she told viewers. “I feel very intruded upon with just doing this right now. But the show convinced me that maybe ‘Wendy, while we’re off reruns aren’t enough,’ and I’m like, ‘Well, where do you expect to do stuff? I’m not leaving the house. I’m not getting sick’… I’ve only been out of the house once? Twice?”
For the most part, people said they were happy that Williams kept the show going instead of reruns being aired. They also seemed to like the first episode of “Wendy @ Home” a bunch.
“I’m glad to see you back Wendy, especially in this intimate setting,” one person commented.
“Omg I died when she brought that huge glass into the shot. Like where did that come from?! ,” wrote another viewer.
Meanwhile, someone else said they just like watching Williams eat food.
“This is giving me so much laughter, this is basically good food porn with Wendy haha I’m here for it !!” that person stated.
