Juelz Santana and wife Kimbella have a lot to celebrate. According to a post shared by Kimbella, the “Dipset Anthem” rapper has been released from prison early after serving an 18-month bid behind bars.
The “Love and Hip Hop: New York” stars shared an emotional reunion on Wednesday, Aug. 4, after Kimbella posted a video of moments leading up to Juelz’s release. In the clip, a visibly emotional Kimbella was heard telling fans “Hey guys, I know last week, Juelz was supposed to be released last Tuesday, but some sh-t happened, but we’re outside of the prison now and he’s going to release any minute.” The reality star revealed that she would “leave the rest up to him” following his exit.
Juelz later confirmed the news after he shared a photo of himself seemingly on his way home. The rapper was spotted wearing a black fitted cap that featured the phrase “Santana Free,” along with a black face mask. “Free at last ! #ImBack #SantanaFree ,” Juelz captioned a snap that has already gained over 200,000 likes in under 24 hours.
The “23 & 1” rapper posted more pictures following his discharge, including one of him reuniting with his kids and other loved ones. “I missed my family.. GOD is good!!! #FreeAtLast #ImBack,” Juelz captioned the gallery of photos.
In December 2018, the rapper was sentenced to 27 months in prison for attempting to go through airport security in Newark, New Jersey, with a loaded .38 caliber handgun and eight Oxycodone pills in his bag. Juelz fled the scene but turned himself in a few days after. Juelz ultimately pleaded guilty to his unlawful possession of a firearm and a controlled substance.
Fans and industry friends alike welcomed the rapper home in the comments section, including one fan who wrote, “Welcome back king we missed your music and just having you around. Please come back with a killa album and some deep dark lyrics about your experience.”
