February is the month of love, with Valentine’s Day fast approaching for all the couples around the world. For “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality star Nene Leakes and her husband Gregg Leakes, their love surpasses 20 years off and on.
Leakes posted photos of herself and Gregg on a romantic dinner date earlier last week. “Swipe: We did a “You Are Loved” date nite with some of our friends!” Nene wrote.
“We just wanna love on each other #family #love #friends #ripkobeandgianna #lifeoftheleakes PS: a funky light shining on us but you get the point right,” the Bravo star added.
Fans gushed over the couple, taking time to show their love for each other.
“Awe great pic! You two keep looking younger by the day. Love it 💕💕.”
“Been with my husband that’s 30yrs my senior for 26yrs. Do that and make it count. He loves you just like mine loves me and don’t take it for granted. After him, you will have no one to compare him to.. Bless you both😘💕💕🌹.”
“Wow, you guys look great!! Greg’s lookin all dapper and NeNe your beautiful as always. You guys look so good! ❤️💙!”
“Y’all aging backwards! The both of you look good!”
“Ohhhhhkkkkk, the Leakes are aging backwards!!! Looking fabulous!!”
“@neneleakes this picture makes me happy and hopeful for the two of you. Despite the odds that were against you, you both are persevering to beat those odds and then some. Happy date night to you both and many more ❤️.”
The couple wed in 1997 but divorced in 2011 because Nene felt like Gregg wasn’t treating her the way she needed to be treated.
However, the couple’s divorce was short-lived, because they remarried in 2013 on television in a Bravo special titled “I Dream of Nene: The Wedding.”
While the Leakeses made their marriage official again in 2013, marital woes still arose. Back in 2018, the couple confirmed Gregg’s diagnosis with stage 3 colon cancer.
During season 11 of “RHOA,” fans got to see up close the effects of the disease on the Leakes family. It wasn’t easy for Nene either, as she had a challenging role to play as a caregiver.
In 2018, she revealed how much Gregg’s diagnosis affected their marriage in a tweet.
“I would just think if I have or had cancer, I would see life so differently! Not being mean, grouchy, and evil for no real reason! But that’s me. Pray for me,” the 52-year-old wrote.
Despite their ups and downs, Nene and Gregg seem to be in a better space in their marriage, and in May 2019 Gregg was announced as officially cancer-free.
