The child actor had the opportunity to be part of a super popular TV show, The Big Bang Theory. However, he turned down the offer not once, but three times! Does Macaulay Culkin regret it now?
While on Joe Rogan’s Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the 37 year old actor, most famous for his role in Home Alone, revealed that he could have been on The Big Bang Theory from its very premiere back in 2007.
However, it turns out that Culkin did not vibe with the TV show’s concept and so, he turned down the offer.
‘I couldn’t see myself doing a sitcom or a television show kind of thing. A good one, I’d do. Like, NewsRadio is a fantastic show. That must’ve been a fruitful endeavor.’
‘They pursued me for The Big Bang Theory. And I said, like, ‘No’…’cause it was kinda, like the way the pitch was, was kinda just like, ‘Alright, these two like, astrophysicist nerds and then a pretty girl lives with them—yoinks!’ That was the pitch…I said, ‘Yeah, no, thanks.’ And then they came back again, and I said, ‘No, no, no. Again, flattered, but no.’ Then they came back at me again, and even my manager was like twisting my arm.’
But while the show turned out to be a much more successful project that he could have imagined at the time, the star is not losing sleep over his past decision.
‘Listen, I’d have hundreds of millions of dollars now if I did that gig. At the same time, I’d be bashing my head against the wall.’
