Nicki Minaj & Joe Budden Make Up After Heated Debate, Minaj Tells Him: I Think You’re A Big Baby

All is well between Nicki Minaj and Joe BuddenAfter their screaming match from Nicki’s Queen Radio show went viral Monday, she stopped by his Joe Budden Podcast to get things right. They were all laughs on Nicki’s Instagram live ahead of the podcast before they worked through their issues.

Budden asked Nicki if she thought something was wrong with him and she quickly answered “yes.”

“I think that you are a big baby. I don’t know if you’re an only child or a middle child, but I think you’re a big baby, I think you never like to be wrong. And whenever somebody calls you out, you have a temper tantrum. We’ve seen you have so many temper tantrums. And people put up with your s*** because you’re a great rapper. I feel like rappers take more of your s*** because they respect you as a rapper. But it doesn’t give you the right to treat rappers like peons when you’re on your show talking about us.”

She added that he typically

“surrounds himself with weak women. I don’t think you’re used to having strong women who are going to battle you down or argue you down about things.”

She went on to say that he also never admits when he’s wrong, especially with women. Budden said he was open to being in the wrong and having a conversation about it.

He continued and said he doesn’t care about what really went down during the Motorsport dispute, a Migos song that featured Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. In the past, Cardi accused Nicki of changing her verse after hearing Cardi’s. This seemed to be the beginning of the female rappers’ ongoing feud with each other.

While Budden said it doesn’t matter anymore, Nicki added,

“It’s a big deal to me because I was the one being lied on. Of course it’s not gonna be a big deal to you because you, in passing, just said something about someone, and it went on to the next. If I’m the subject of that lie, of course, it matters to me.”

Nicki said Budden failed to admit that he dissed Nicki about the MotorSport disagreement, even when she provided proof.

Nicki cleared the air and said she always has to approve a song that features her before it’s released. She also addressed Budden’s statement that her Hot Girl Summer song with Megan Thee Stallion was already done before she and Megan went live and decided to have Nicki get on the song. She reiterated that she wasn’t supposed to be on the single before they went live together.

Nicki said,

“Nothing was in the works. I wasn’t asked to be on the song before that live. I just want to let you know, this is the second time where I did a record and a female was on the record where you put something out in the world that is basically saying, ‘Nicki’s lying.’ Its not about the song, it’s not about the person…”

A light bulb then went off for Budden and he said he understood what Nicki was saying.

Nicki added that Budden isn’t the only one in the media to use their platform against her. She also called out Charlamagne and DJ Envy.

She states,

“What y’all don’t understand is behind all that other stuff is a human being. And when there’s a big hate train and people like you and Charlamagne are spearheading… and people like DJ Envy who was sending text messages today but who was one of the people who I thought was my friend… And then all of a sudden it was just a lot of things and I couldn’t believe it.”

“When you’re insecure, you tell lies because you don’t want others to shine based on their talent sometimes. So, I’m always going to have receipts to prove what I’m gonna say, and that will never change. My point is, there were a lot of people who I never said anything bad about who I thought I was cool with, who jumped on the hate train. And my thing is, when you say things like, ‘Oh well we’re past it,’ Yes I’m past it, praise be to God. But I still had to go through these things because of people like you who made a sport out of tearing down a Black woman who has done nothing but come in this game with an authentic come up, writing raps and doing what was actually necessary — no Instagram, no reality shows, no sucking DJ’s d***s…a nd then to have people who are smart enough to see that are tearing me down.”

She said she would never disrespect people like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne or Eminem who came before her.

She ended with,

“People came together to try to end me. Let me say this…It’ll never happen. You can go to every witch doctor in the world, it’ll never happen. Praise be to God. I am who I am, because I am who I am. I don’t have to go in a room with a bunch of men to create my sound, my image, my anything. I am who I am, take it or leave it. But I put in the work.”

The full episode will be released on Budden’s podcast.
