Omar Epps is now a member of the “Power” family since he’s been cast in its prequel and spinoff “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”

The announcement came about five days after the “Power” series finale wrapped up and shortly after 50 Cent, who executive produces the show, announced “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is coming. There will also be three other spinoffs.

“Power Book II: Ghost” is one of them, which will star Mary J. BligeMethod Man, Michael Rainey Jr. and Naturi Naughton.

Plus, Larenz Tate will star in another spinoff titled “Power Book IV: Influence,” and Joseph Sikora will play the lead in “Power Book V: Force,” which will be shot in Los Angeles.

As of late, Epps has been busy playing the character Darnell Hodges in a recurring role on the hit NBC drama “This Is Us.” He’ll also star in the upcoming Netflix film “Fatal Affair” with Nia Long, which the actress also produced.

Epps recently starred in the 2019 science fiction film “3022” as well, and before that he joined Paula Patton in the 2018 film “Traffik.”

But besides that film role and many others, the New York native is probably best known for playing the character Q in the 1992 film “Juice” with Tupac Shakur, Khalil Kain and Jermaine Hopkins.

Epps hasn’t tweeted about being in the “Power” spinoff yet, and he didn’t mention anything about it on Instagram either. But his fans have already sent him congratulatory messages.

“Congrats on Power 🙏🏾,” wrote one Instagram user.

“CONGRATULATIONS ON THE POWER MOVE,” wrote someone else.

“Yo, congrats in the new gig, bruh!” a third person commented.

Reportedly, the “Power” spinoffs will be rolled out over the next year.
